Stone lanterns, ikebana floral displays, and carefully arranged plants and rocks create a balanced harmony that reflects centuries of Japanese garden artistry.
The Circle of Friendship, created by local artist Gert Maas, stands as a tribute to Roy Tanaka and his lifelong dedication to building connections between Kelowna and Kasugai. Installed in Kasugai Gardens, the sculpture symbolizes unity, cultural exchange, and the enduring bond between the two sister cities. It honors Tanaka’s vital role in bringing the garden to life and preserving the spirit of friendship it represents.
